Foreign Affairs Minister and Mexican Secretary of Economy to discuss Canada-Mexico ties in Toronto

Toronto, Ontario - Global Affairs Canada - Tomorrow, the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will welcome Graciela Márquez Colín, Secretary of Economy of Mexico, in Toronto, Ontario.
 
The ministers will discuss the section 232 tariffs imposed by the United States on Canadian and Mexican steel and aluminum and how our two countries can continue to cooperate with one another in response to this unjust and illegal action.
 
The ministers will also discuss the benefits of the new North American Free Trade Agreement and Canada’s ongoing commitment to help improve labour standards and working conditions in Canada, Mexico and the United States, including through the new NAFTA.
