Getting Into Farming

Have you always wanted to get into the farming business?
Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) is hosting two Getting into Farming information sessions aimed at the aspiring farmer thinking of making it their primary income source.
 
“Sessions will cover topics such as an overview of agriculture, business planning, personal assessment, financial, land, resources and education,” says Marissa Brewer, new venture specialist, AF, Stony Plain. “Two Alberta producers will also share their very interesting and inspiring stories of how they got started in farming.” 
 
“The Getting into Farming session is a great overview for those interested in learning about the opportunities in the industry and wanting to gain some information to help them establish a successful farming enterprise.”
 
The two dates are as follows:
 
October 20, 2015
Airdrie – Agriculture Centre
97 East Lake Ramp NE, Airdrie, AB
 
October 22, 2015
Leduc – Agriculture and Forestry 
6547 Sparrow Drive, Leduc, AB
 
Getting into Farming runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $25/person and includes lunch. To register, call the Ag-Info Centre at 1-800-387-6030.
