Carl Kessler to lead Brandt retail growth in Central Illinois

BRANDT has announced a major leadership change in its Central Illinois retail operations. Carl Kessler, a longtime agriculture professional, will join the company as Vice President of BRANDT Agronomic Services starting July 1. He will take over leadership of the company’s direct-to-grower retail business, which serves farmers across Central Illinois.

Kessler brings more than 23 years of experience from Syngenta Crop Protection, where he holds key leadership roles. In his most recent position, he managed one of the highest-performing districts in the United States. His work focused on building strong customer relationships, improving account planning, and training teams in agronomic practices and business strategies.

He will succeed John Allen, who has been with BRANDT for nearly 50 years. Allen will remain with the company during the transition period, helping ensure a smooth leadership change. Kessler will report directly to the BRANDT Executive Team and will lead strategy, operations, and business growth for the retail division.

"My dad and aunt started BRANDT as a retail business 73 years ago and that's still the core of what we do in Central Illinois," said Rick Brandt, President and CEO of BRANDT. "We're looking for Carl to come in and build on that heritage in ways that always keep us innovating and out front with our farmer customers."

Kessler began his career in agricultural retail as a crop specialist and plant manager. His background gives him a strong understanding of farmer needs and the importance of trusted relationships.

"BRANDT's unmatched reputation is built by over 70 years of trust, integrity and service with local farmers," Kessler said. "I'm excited to learn from John Allen and the rest of the team to carry on the tradition as the farmers' trusted advisor."

Founded in 1953, BRANDT has grown into a global company providing agricultural inputs such as micronutrients, adjuvants, and enzymes. The company continues to support farmers with innovative solutions and strong service.
