Deliveries of major grains

Deliveries of major grains across Canada rose by 13.3% in March from the same month the previous year, totalling 5.7 million tonnes. Increases in canola (+30.6% to 1.9 million tonnes), total wheat (+3.4% to 3.0 million tonnes), and barley (+21.1% to 486.9 thousand tonnes) contributed to higher deliveries. Saskatchewan accounted for more than half (52.5%) of all deliveries, while Alberta accounted for 31.1% and Manitoba accounted for 14.4%.

Major grains include wheat (excluding durum), durum wheat, oats, barley, rye, flaxseed and canola.

As part of fiscal realignment efforts, the dissemination frequency for the Producer Deliveries of Major Grains will be reduced from monthly to quarterly.
