Pasture walks are a great place for producers to network, and learn directly from each other and MSU Extension educators and specialists.
Michigan State University Extension will be hosting a multiple pasture walk for persons interested in grassfed beef production on Monday June 22, starting at 6 p.m.. The pasture walks will be held in two locations of Woodland Farms near Clare, Michigan.
Attendees will learn about the farms grass fed beef production, and how they are managed and marketed. Participants will also be able to learn of hay production practices to make quality hay for grassfed cattle, and see over 3,200 feet of above ground water lines to improve pasture grazing. A picnic like meal will be provided along with some refreshments.
Participants are asked to meet at 6 p.m. at 9720 S. Cornwell Ave, Clare, MI 48617. The first location will provide viewing of the yearling grassfed cattle. Participants will travel with the group to the second location at 5061 E. Herrick Road, Clare, MI 48617 to view the beef cow herd and their calves.
