Rain Adds Delay To Seeding Season

Rain showers will add another delay to spring seeding activities.

Drew Lerner is the Senior Agri-Meteorologist with World Weather Inc expects things to turnaround later this week with temperatures approaching the mid to high 20’s:

"The most important part of the forcast besides the warmth is the fact that we will minimize percipitation across the region for awhile," he said "We've had a lot of days onend stacked up across the region where we had cloudiness or at least veriable cloud cover and percipitation occuring fairly often."

"It's more likely going to be Wednesday thru Friday of this week that we'll experince the greatest warm-up and temperatures will be above average as we go from the end of this week into this weekend, but another cool front is expected to cut across the region as we go from Saturday into Sunday," he said.

We are taking students out to southern Manitoba to Hespler Farms! Farmer Wayne will teach students how he plants and cares for his potato crop and why potatoes are such a unique crop to grow. Teachers, check out your AITC Dashboard for Math'd Potatoes, a potato-themed classroom resource to pair with this tour video. Thank you to Peak of the Market and Penner Farm Services for making this event possible.
