On yesterday’s program, Bruce Viney, risk management specialist with Alberta Agriculture, said it might be worth investigating some retained ownership or other off-farm feeding opportunities for livestock producers. I asked Viney about both the downside risks and upside opportunities of doing this.

Our temps crashed last week, causing a pen of lambs to really go backwards showing signs of starvation. This means although mama had enough milk when they were first born, they've grown enough now that she can't keep up.
