Stock Growers Welcomes New Agriculture Minister

“The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association (SSGA) would like to congratulate David Marit on his recent appointment as Minister of Agriculture,” stated SSGA President Bill Huber.

The SSGA is confident that the new minister has the skills to lead and grow our industry. Marit brings to his new portfolio a strong background in agriculture as well as a wealth of personal experience as part of a family farming operation in southern Saskatchewan. His Cabinet experience gives him a solid understanding of managing complex issues. The province’s agriculture industry is strong today, but it faces looming uncertainty from the upcoming implementation of the federally-imposed carbon pricing and ongoing NAFTA negotiations.

“The SSGA looks forward to a good working relationship with the new minister as we work together to strengthen the livestock industry by enhancing the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the sector,” the SSGA President added.
