Tapping into Growth Opportunity for Quality Animal Feed

After working in the agriculture industry for close to 30 years, the owners of Atlantic Roasted Products Inc. understand the value of combining innovation with farming. Originally hog farmers, Anthony and Anna Nabuurs gained a first-hand appreciation for high-quality animal feed and the results it yields, which drives their company’s dedication to providing premium products. With a solid customer base throughout the Maritimes, Atlantic Roasted Products is well positioned to capitalize on growth opportunities for its animal feed products.

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Member of Parliament for Cardigan, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today announced support for Atlantic Roasted Products Inc. to purchase technology to improve product quality and increase production capacity. ACOA’s Business Development Program is providing a repayable contribution of $119,000 towards this project.

The installation of a natural air drying system will dry stored crops more efficiently and improve the quality of the end product, as well as increase productivity and reduce operating costs. In addition, the company will be able to improve its product line to a better level of quality.
