Two People From Sask Cattle Sector Inducted Into Canadian HOF

Two individuals involved in the cattle sector in Saskatchewan were inducted into the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame over the weekend.

John Willmott was nominated by Canadian Western Agribition for his work in the agriculture sector and helping build Agribition into the best beef show on the continent.

Bob Switzer worked on the Certified Angus branding project and has worked to build and promote the cattle sector. He was nominated by the Canadian Angus Association and was pleased with the honor.

“It’s a big honour getting recognized and nominated by the Canadian Angus Association. They’re the people we’ve dealt with all of our life. They’re the best people in the world to deal with. Our grandchildren are going to be the sixth generation, so it’s been very rewarding for us,” he said.

Switzer speaks about being a strong advocate for the cattle industry.

“I’ve been on Provincial and Canadian Angus boards. Red Coat Cattle Feeders Inc. is our local community-owned feedlot here – I’ve been involved since the start,” he said.
