USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 460,400 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up 60 percent from the previous week and 80 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (113,300 MT), Yemen (58,200 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (57,200 MT), Nigeria (41,000 MT), and South Korea (38,400 MT, including decreases of 28,800 MT).  Exports of 374,700 MT were down 34 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (112,700 MT), Japan (93,500 MT), Yemen (58,200 MT), Mexico (38,200 MT), and Chile (29,700 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 1,000 MT were reported to Italy.  Exports for own account to Italy totaling 3,000 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 52,200 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 598,400 MT for 2015/2016 were up 15 percent from the previous week.  Increases reported for Mexico (183,900 MT, including 23,000 MT switched from unknown destinations),  Colombia (117,000 MT, including 22,800 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (97,900 MT, including 47,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,700 MT), Guatemala (82,200 MT, including 17,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Peru (37,500 MT), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (41,700 MT) and the French West Indies (6,900 MT).  Net sales of 60,000 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 606,900 MT were up 24 percent from the previous week.  The primary destinations were Japan (220,300 MT), Mexico (184,700 MT), Colombia (48,100 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT), and Canada (23,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 450,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Barley:  There were no sales reported during the week.  Exports of 100 MT were reported to South Korea.

Sorghum: Net sales of 7,700 MT for 2015/2016 were up 90 percent from the previous week.  Increases for China (113,600 MT, including 105,100 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (2,000 MT), and Colombia (1,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (109,000 MT).  Exports of 257,300 MT were down 27 percent from the previous week.  The destinations were China (230,600 MT), Colombia (23,000 MT), and Mexico (3,600 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 55,700 MT for 2015/2016 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Honduras (17,300 MT, including 9,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Haiti (17,000 MT), Libya (15,000 MT), Mexico (4,200 MT, including decreases of 800 MT), and Jordan (3,000 MT).  Net sales reductions were reported for unknown destinations (6,900 MT) and Venezuela (500 MT).  Exports of 72,000 MT, down 18 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average, were reported to Venezuela (29,500 MT), Mexico (11,600 MT), Honduras (11,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (9,500 MT), and Canada (2,600 MT). 

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 200 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current export for own account balance is 300 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,476,800 MT for 2015/2016, up 15 percent from the previous week, were primarily for China (1,143,400 MT, including 557,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 132,100 MT), Russia (121,000 MT, including 52,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (81,600 MT, including 49,500 switched from unknown destinations), the Netherlands (75,700 MT, including 70,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Thailand (74,100 MT).  Net sales reductions were reported for unknown destinations (205,400 MT).  Exports of 1,627,600 MT were up 74 percent from the previous week.  The primary destinations were China (1,327,700 MT), Japan (96,800 MT), the Netherlands (75,700 MT), Mexico (68,700 MT), and Russia (33,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 175,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 1,900 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 225,800 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for unknown destinations (68,200 MT), Poland (40,000 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT, switched from Panama), Mexico (26,700 MT), and Guatemala (15,200 MT, including 9,200 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Net sales reductions were reported for Panama (21,900 MT), Ireland (6,000 MT), and French West Indies (3,000 MT).  Net sales of 700 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Canada.  Exports of 139,700 MT were primarily to Mexico (33,900 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT), Canada (20,700 MT), Guatemala (15,200 MT), and Honduras (11,700 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 53,200 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for unknown destinations (20,000 MT), Morocco (18,000 MT), Mexico (12,500 MT), Nicaragua (1,800 MT), and the Dominican Republic (500 MT).  Exports of 16,200 MT were primarily to Venezuela (10,000 MT), Mexico (4,900 MT), Trinidad (800 MT), and Canada (400 MT).

Cotton:   Net upland sales totaling 67,300 RB for 2015/2016 were down 68 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Indonesia (13,000 RB, including 600 RB switched from Japan), Vietnam (12,800 RB, including 400 RB switched from Japan), South Korea (10,600 RB, including 1,100 RB switched from unknown destinations), Pakistan (8,600 RB), and Guatemala (4,700 RB, including 400 RB switched from El Salvador). Net sales reductions were reported for unknown destinations (1,100 RB), El Salvador (400 RB), and China (200 RB).  Exports of 67,400 RB were down 47 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (14,200 RB), Vietnam (11,500 RB), Turkey (9,100 RB), Indonesia (6,200 RB), and El Salvador (4,200 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 3,300 RB for 2015/2016 were up 12 percent from the previous week, but down 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Pakistan (1,100 RB), India (1,000 RB), Peru (500 RB), and Vietnam (400 RB).  Net sales reductions of 400 RB were reported for Japan.  Exports of 7,300 RB were up 73 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (3,400 RB), India (2,300 RB), Taiwan (700 RB), and Vietnam (400 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 1,800 RB were reported to Vietnam.  Decreases totaling 7,900 RB were reported to Vietnam.  The current outstanding balance is 57,200 RB, and is for China (45,900 RB) and Vietnam (11,300 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 265,100 pieces for 2015, all whole cattle hides, were down 32 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily China (107,900 pieces, including decreases of 4,200 pieces), Taiwan (60,000 pieces, including 9,700 pieces switched from China), South Korea (38,400 pieces), Mexico (37,900 pieces), and Canada (10,800 pieces).  Net sales reductions were reported for Germany (300 pieces) and Hong Kong (200 pieces).  Exports of 385,000 pieces were up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 378,600 pieces were primarily to China (211,200 pieces), South Korea (91,700 pieces), Mexico (31,300 pieces), Taiwan (15,300 pieces), and Thailand (8,600 pieces). 

Net sales of 72,800 wet blues for 2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (13,600 unsplit and 1,200 grain splits), Mexico (28,000 grain splits and 3,400 unsplit), Vietnam (9,900 unsplit), South Korea (4,600 grain splits and 3,300 unsplit), and Hong Kong (4,200 grain splits), were partially offset by reductions for Thailand (600 unsplit) and Vietnam (100 grain splits).  For 2016, net sales reductions of 6,100 wet blues resulted as increases for Thailand (7,000 grain splits) and China (6,800 grain splits), were more than offset by reductions for South Korea (3,300 unsplit and 1,800 grain splits), Hong Kong (4,200 grain splits), Mexico (3,200 unsplit), Taiwan (2,400 unsplit), Italy (1,600 unsplit), and India (1,300 unsplit).  Exports of 151,500 wet blues were up 32 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (39,700 unsplit and 11,700 grain splits), Mexico 17,900 grain splits and 9,400 unsplit), Italy (21,200 unsplit and 3,600 grain splits), and Vietnam (19,500 unsplit and 3,500 grain splits).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 491,400 pounds for 2015 were primarily for Vietnam (314,200 pounds), Taiwan (167,400 pounds), and South Korea (9,700 pounds).  For 2016, net sales reductions of 285,500 pounds, resulted as increases for Taiwan (9,400 pounds), were more than offset by decreases for Italy (217,300 pounds), Vietnam (41,500 pounds), and China (36,100 pounds).  Exports of 656,200 pounds were up 84 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (523,600 pounds), China (127,600 pounds), and South Korea (5,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 14,000 MT for 2015 were up 69 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (4,500 MT), Hong Kong (3,300 MT), Mexico (2,500 MT), Canada (1,800 MT), and Taiwan (800 MT).  Net sales of 400 MT for 2016 were reported for Canada (300 MT) and Japan (100 MT).  Exports of 11,700 MT were up 1 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (2,800 MT), Hong Kong (2,300 MT), South Korea (2,200 MT), Mexico (1,900 MT), and Canada (800 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 23,800 MT for 2015 were up 61 percent from the previous week and 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (9,000 MT), Japan (4,200 MT), Mexico (4,100 MT), South Korea (2,900 MT), and Canada (1,900 MT).  Net sales of 100 MT for 2016 were reported for South Korea.  Exports of 18,000 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,000 MT), Japan (4,100 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), South Korea (1,500 MT), and Hong Kong (900 MT).
