USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:   Net sales of 372,200 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 62 percent from the previous week, but down 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Nigeria (95,000 MT), Brazil (54,500 MT, including 50,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,200 MT), Mexico (51,700 MT), Japan (47,200 MT), and Taiwan (44,200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (73,400 MT), China (3,400 MT), and Costa Rica (1,200 MT).  Exports of 563,200 MT were up 53 percent from the previous week and 38 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (116,600 MT), Brazil (107,000 MT), the Philippines (79,600 MT), Japan (65,300 MT), and South Korea (55,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 30,000 MT, all Italy.

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, new exports for own account totaling 17,100 MT to Italy were reported.  Exports for own account totaling 1,200 MT to Belgium-Luxembourg were applied to new or outstanding sales.  Decreases in exports for own account totaling 3,700 MT to Belgium-Luxembourg were reported.  The current exports for own account balance is 52,000 MT and is for Belgium-Luxembourg (10,300 MT) and Italy (41,700 MT).

Corn:  Net sales of 695,400 MT for 2013/2014 were up 17 percent from the previous week, but down 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (519,700 MT), Japan (201,100 MT, including 93,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 6,000 MT), China (111,700 MT, including 54,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 9,000 MT), Peru (63,500 MT), Venezuela (50,100 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Guatemala (14,100 MT, including 13,300 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 700 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (297,900 MT) and Colombia (13,500 MT).  Net sales of 109,400 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 977,400 MT were primarily to China (370,700 MT), Mexico (278,100 MT), Japan (93,500 MT), Peru (60,100 MT), and Venezuela (49,100 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 100,000 MT, all Mexico.

Barley: Net sales of 6,700 MT were reported for Japan (6,200 MT) and Taiwan (500 MT).  Exports of 6,200 MT were to Japan.

Sorghum: Net sales of 290,300 MT for 2013/2014 were for China (231,600 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Brazil (55,000 MT), and Japan (4,600 MT, including 4,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 8,500 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (1,000 MT).  Exports of 17,900 MT were to China (13,900 MT) and Japan (4,000 MT).

Rice: Net sales of 12,900 MT for 2013/2014--a marketing-year low--were reported for Turkey (2,700 MT), Mexico (2,600 MT), Lebanon (2,300 MT), Canada (2,100 MT), and the United Kingdom (800 MT).  Decreases were reported for Jordan (700 MT) and unknown destinations (600 MT).  Exports of 63,600 MT were to Mexico (22,700 MT), Japan (12,600 MT), Costa Rica (12,400 MT), Jordan (4,900 MT), and Honduras (3,500 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,108,600 MT for 2013/2014 were up 38 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (558,100 MT, including 58,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 9,200 MT), Mexico (108,400 MT), Germany (74,800 MT), Saudi Arabia (70,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and South Korea (59,800 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (102,500 MT) and the United Kingdom (7,400 MT).  Net sales of 413,900 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for unknown destinations (300,900 MT), China (111,000 MT), and Japan (2,000 MT).  Exports of 1,711,200 MT were primarily to China (1,029,900 MT), Germany (74,800 MT), Mexico (74,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (70,000 MT), South Korea (59,800 MT), and the United Kingdom (58,600 MT).  

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 280,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, new exports for own account totaling 24,700 MT to Canada were reported.  Export for own account totaling 58,600 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 3,000 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 82,700 MT for 2013/2014 were down 31 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for France (51,500 MT, including 49,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Turkey (39,700 MT), Morocco (24,000 MT), and Venezuela (21,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (57,600 MT) and Colombia (44,300 MT).  Net sales of 300 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 334,300 MT were up 5 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were France (51,500 MT), Thailand (49,500 MT), Egypt (42,900 MT), Spain (31,600 MT), and Italy (27,500 MT).  

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 2,300 MT for 2013/2014 resulted as increases for the Dominican Republic (1,800 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT), Guatemala (500 MT), and El Salvador (500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Canada (2,100 MT).  Exports of 29,300 MT were up 1 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (16,100 MT), Mexico (4,200 MT), Senegal (4,200 MT), and Hong Kong (2,000 MT).  

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 174,100 RB for 2013/2014 were down 30 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (50,700 RB, including 900 RB switched from South Korea and decreases of 300 RB), Turkey (37,400 RB), Taiwan (20,900 RB), Indonesia (18,900 RB, including 1,000 RB switched from Japan), and Brazil (14,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Japan (300 RB).  Net sales of 400 RB for 2014/2015 were reported for Indonesia.  Exports of 165,200 RB were up 55 percent from the previous week and 94 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (63,500 RB), Turkey (30,300 RB), Mexico (12,300 RB), Indonesia (10,100 RB), and South Korea (9,500 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 3,300 RB for 2013/2014 were down 37 percent from the previous week and 82 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (1,800 RB), Indonesia (400 RB), Japan (400 RB), and Mexico (300 RB).  Exports of 26,100 RB were primarily to China (18,500 RB), India (3,400 RB), Pakistan (2,600 RB), and Peru (1,300 RB).     

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 17,500 RB, and are for Thailand (9,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), unknown destinations (3,300 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, the current exports for own account balance is 53,400 RB, and is for China (53,000 RB) and Vietnam (400 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 437,000 pieces for 2013 were down 2 percent from the previous week, but up 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 434,200 pieces were primarily for China (319,000 pieces, including 16,300 pieces switched from Mexico, 8,100 pieces from Vietnam, 2,700 pieces from South Korea, and decreases of 19,900 pieces), South Korea (57,700 pieces), Taiwan (53,100 pieces), and Italy (6,800 pieces)  Decreases were reported for Vietnam (8,300 pieces) and Mexico (6,300 pieces).  Exports of 403,900 pieces were down 8 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle exports of 400,900 pieces were primarily to China (281,000 pieces), South Korea (77,800 pieces), Taiwan (18,600 pieces), Mexico (6,500 pieces), and Thailand (5,700 pieces).    

Net sales of 104,400 wet blues for 2013 were primarily for China (43,300 unsplit and 5,900 grain splits), Italy (20,900 unsplit), Vietnam (20,500 unsplit), and South Korea (9,400 grain splits and 900 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for India (2,700 grain splits) and Mexico (1,800 grain splits).  Exports of 140,100 hides were primarily to China (36,300 unsplit and 13,500 grain splits), Italy (31,400 unsplit and 7,700 grain splits), Mexico (11,800 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), and Thailand (10,800 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 86,600 pounds reported for China (88,000 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for South Korea (1,400 pounds).  Net sales of splits totaling 3,600 pounds for 2014 were reported for South Korea (4,300 pounds).  Decreases were reported for China (700 pounds).  Exports of 335,700 pounds were to South Korea.

Beef: Net sales of 10,100 MT for 2013 were reported for Japan (2,800 MT), Hong Kong (2,200 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), and South Korea (1,100 MT).  Net sales of 9,300 MT for 2014 were for Japan (6,500 MT), Hong Kong (1,000 MT), and South Korea (800 MT).  Exports of 14,100 MT were primarily to Hong Kong (3,000 MT), Mexico (2,900 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), South Korea (2,500 MT), and Canada (1,700 MT).

Pork: Net sales of 5,300 MT for 2013 were reported for South Korea (1,300 MT), Japan (1,200 MT), Mexico (800 MT), Canada (800 MT), and the United Kingdom (200 MT).  Exports of 12,700 MT were primarily to Mexico (4,700 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), Japan (1,700 MT), Hong Kong (1,300 MT), and Canada (1,100 MT).
