USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:   Net sales of 2,000 metric tons for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year resulted as increases for Brazil (26,600 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,000 MT),  Taiwan (21,400 MT), Ghana (17,300 MT, including 15,800 MT switched from unknown destinations), Congo (11,700 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Nigeria (10,100 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Senegal (3,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (74,100 MT), South Korea (17,100 MT), and Italy (1,800 MT).  Net sales of 341,400 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for Nigeria (106,000 MT), Sri Lanka (65,000 MT), Japan (48,900 MT), and Brazil (35,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Taiwan (20,900 MT) and Italy (1,500 MT).  Exports of 493,000 MT were down 7 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (105,200 MT), Brazil (86,600 MT), Taiwan (60,000 MT), Mexico (42,400 MT), Nigeria (34,100 MT), and Venezuela (30,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, options were exercised to export 9,000 MT to Italy from other than the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 19,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 22,500 MT were reported to Italy.  The current exports for own account balance is 37,500 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 550,700 MT for 2013/2014 were down 5 percent from the previous week, but up 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (242,900 MT, including 178,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,900 MT), Colombia (151,100 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from China, 30,000 MT switched unknown destinations, and decreases of 5,300 MT), Egypt (130,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), South Korea (72,800 MT), Vietnam (64,500 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Portugal (55,800 MT, including 50,000 MT switched from Spain).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (230,400 MT) and China (92,000 MT).  Net sales of 19,600 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for unknown destinations (10,000 MT), Mexico (7,600 MT), and China (2,000 MT).  Exports of 1,159,500 MT were down 1 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (207,400 MT), Colombia (188,100 MT), Mexico (152,800 MT), South Korea (132,800 MT), Egypt (130,800 MT), Taiwan (85,700 MT), and Vietnam (64,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 123,000 MT, all South Korea.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to Colombia were adjusted down 44,000 MT for week ending May 22, 2014, because this shipment was reported twice.

Barley:  Net sales of 900 MT for 2013/2014 were reported for South Korea (500 MT) and Mexico (400 MT).  Net sales of 500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for South Korea.  Exports of 2,500 MT were reported to Japan (1,500 MT), South Korea (500 MT), Mexico (400 MT), and Taiwan (100 MT).

Sorghum: Net sales of 52,400 MT resulted as increases for unknown destinations (54,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for China (1,700 MT).  Net sales of 60,000 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for China.  Exports of 142,000 MT were reported to China.

Rice: Net sales of 36,200 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Colombia (15,000 MT), unknown destinations (14,900 MT), Haiti (4,800 MT), Saudi Arabia (1,100 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (1,500 MT).  Net sales of 7,000 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for unknown destinations.  Exports of 71,000 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (27,300 MT), Haiti (14,900 MT), Colombia (14,900 MT), El Salvador (5,500 MT), and Canada (2,800 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 41,300 MT for 2013/2014 were down 32 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (29,000 MT, including 28,300 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 400 MT)Mexico (21,200 MT), Taiwan (12,500 MT), Canada (2,100 MT) and Indonesia (1,700 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (28,300 MT).  Net sales of 230,500 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for unknown destinations (110,200 MT), China (110,000 MT), and Taiwan (4,500 MT).  Exports of 213,400 MT were up 79 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (83,300 MT), Japan (53,000 MT), South Korea (27,100 MT), Indonesia (17,100 MT), and Taiwan (8,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 110,500 MT, all China.  For 2014/2015, optional origin sales totaling 55,000 MT were reported for China.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 716,000 MT, and are for China (551,000 MT), Egypt (120,000 MT), and Mexico (45,000 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 65,800 MT for 2013/2014 were down 21 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (34,400 MT), Canada (7,500 MT), Venezuela (7,300 MT), unknown destinations (5,500 MT), Colombia (4,600 MT), the Philippines (4,000 MT), and Sri Lanka (1,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for Jamaica (4,000 MT) and Guatemala (200 MT).  Net sales of 233,700 MT for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for the Philippines (216,000 MT), Vietnam (9,000 MT), and Ecuador (6,000 MT).  Exports of 143,600 MT were up 19 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Colombia (28,000 MT), Egypt (25,800 MT), Canada (22,200 MT), Mexico (14,900 MT), the Dominican Republic (14,400 MT), and Guatemala (9,400 MT).  

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 5,100 MT for 2013/2014 were down 66 percent from the previous week and 69 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (2,400 MT), Canada (1,800 MT), and Nicaragua (700 MT).  Exports of 6,700 MT were up 46 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Jamaica (3,500 MT), Mexico (2,200 MT), Nicaragua (700 MT), and Canada (200 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 131,500 RB for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 2 percent the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (81,400 RB, including 1,800 RB switched from Indonesia and 300 RB switched from South Korea), Turkey (14,500 RB), South Korea (7,700 RB), Taiwan (6,400 RB), Thailand (5,000 RB), and Guatemala (3,700 RB, including 300 RB switched from El Salvador).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (1,800 RB) and El Salvador (300 RB).  Net sales of 176,400 RB for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for China (83,600 RB), Turkey (49,100 RB), and Mexico (11,300 RB).   Exports of 168,200 RB were down 22 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Turkey (51,800 RB), Vietnam (25,100 RB), China (20,900 RB), Mexico (11,300 RB), and South Korea (11,000 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 3,100 RB for 2013/2014 were down 29 percent from the previous week, but up 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (4,400 RB, including 2,200 RB switched from Thailand), India (400 RB, switched from Indonesia), Egypt (400 RB), and Belgium (200 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Thailand (1,800 RB) and Indonesia (400 RB).   Net sales of 900 RB for 2014/2015 were reported for Germany.  Exports of 11,400 RB were primarily to China (7,400 RB), Peru (1,000 RB), India (900 RB), and Bangladesh (800 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,900 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), unknown destinations (700 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to China (1,200 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 61,700 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 333,900 pieces reported for 2014 were down 30 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides sales of 331,400 pieces were primarily for China (160,000 pieces), South Korea (120,900 pieces), Mexico (17,200 pieces), Hong Kong (15,400 MT), and Taiwan (14,400 pieces).  Exports of 316,000 pieces were down 28 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports totaled 313,200 pieces, with the primary destinations being China (220,900 pieces), South Korea (46,700 pieces), Mexico (17,000 pieces), Taiwan (8,200 pieces), and Thailand (7,500 pieces).

Net sales of 180,400 wet blues for 2014 were reported for China (50,900 unsplit and 100 grain splits), Thailand (39,800 unsplit), Italy (29,700 unsplit and 9,700 grain splits), Vietnam (20,000 unsplit), and Mexico (8,200 unsplit and 12,900 grain splits).  Decreases were reported for Taiwan (4,100 unsplit) and South Korea (100 unsplit).  Exports of 173,700 wet blues were primarily to China (56,800 unsplit), Italy (52,200 unsplit and 1,800 grain splits), Vietnam (20,700 unsplit and 3,500 grain splits), and Mexico (16,500 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totaling 172,400 pounds for 2014 were for China (132,000 pounds), South Korea (25,800 pounds), and Vietnam (14,600 pounds).  Exports of 419,900 pounds were reported to South Korea.

Beef:  Net sales of 16,700 MT for 2014 were up 32 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (6,500 MT), Hong Kong (4,200 MT), South Korea (2,200 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), and Taiwan (1,200 MT).  Exports of 12,000 MT were down 27 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,400 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT), South Korea (1,500 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 13,000 MT for 2014 were up 43 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (8,000 MT), Australia (1,000 MT), Canada (900 MT), South Korea (600 MT), and the Philippines (500 MT).  Exports of 9,300 MT were down 8 percent from the previous and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (3,700 MT), Japan (1,600 MT), Canada (1,000 MT), South Korea (900 MT), and Australia (500 MT).
