Video: Achieving an Earlier Peola Harvest with both Polish and Early-Maturing Argentine Canola Varieties

Allie Noble is the Crops Extension Specialist at the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture in Prince Albert and joins us for the Conservation Learning Centre's 2021 Virtual Field Day. Allie speaks about this peola ADOPT funded trial that will help to determine if early-maturing canola varieties grown with early maturing pea varieties can allow for peola to be harvested earlier and more effectively than typical peola combinations. The other goal of the peola trial is to find pea and canola varieties that mature at similar times to each other. Often peas will mature before canola, so this project may help to resolve this issue. Allie also talks about the clubroot and blackleg testing canola programs put on by the Sask Canola. For more information on this trial and others, please visit our website at www.conservationlearningcentre.com, where we post reports and results of many of our trials.
