Roman Treasure

In 2019, a Polish farmer discovered artifacts from the Roman empire in his field.

Mariusz Dyl was looking for antlers that had been shed by a deer when he spotted coins on the ground.

In total, 1,753 silver coins were scattered across his field. Tillage equipment likely dug them up.

Archaeologists dated the coins to the second century. They had images of Roman emperors Nerva, who ruled from 96 to 98 AD, and Septimus Servus, who ruled from 193 to 211 AD.
