American Farm Bureau Acquires Cygnus Ag Portfolio

By Amanda Brodhagen, Farms.com

Washington, D.C.-based American Farm Bureau Federation bought a large agriculture portfolio from Cygnus Business Media for an undisclosed amount.

The deal includes: Minnesota Farmfest, Dakotafest, Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show, Northern Illinois Farm Show, IDEAg-branded Interconnectivity Conference, FEED & GRAIN magazine and Case IH Farm Forum magazine.

Cygnus Business Media put up its agricultural portfolio for sale about six months ago. “We are pleased the Farm Bureau acquired the properties,” said Cygnus CEO John French. “The properties were highly profitable and have drawn significant interest for many years. It is a perfect fit.”

The transaction was finalised July 30 and all Cygnus employees were carried over as part of the purchase. This acquisition is the union of very strong brands that are deeply-rooted in agriculture,” said American Farm Bureau Federation President Bob Stallman.

Getting closer to planting season means one thing… it’s time to get EVERYTHING ready.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a normal day without a few problems… dead batteries, hydraulic issues, and a truck tire that absolutely refused to cooperate. We tried everything—jump packs, bead bazooka, ratchet straps… and eventually had to bring out the “big guns” just to get things moving again.

But that’s farm life—adapt, fix, and keep moving forward.

We’re getting close to go-time. Wheat seed is coming soon, and planting season is right around the corner
