Liquid foliar nutrition boosts nitrogen use efficiency and plant vigor
Koch Agronomic Services (KAS) has expanded access to its liquid foliar product, OPTRIENT MoCo Ni, for use on a wide range of row and specialty crops across the United States. Previously focused on fruit and nut trees, the formulation now reaches more growers who want simple tools to improve plant health and optimize yields.
“As yield goals continue to increase, micronutrients, in addition to macronutrients, play an even more important role in crop management,” said Greg Hunter, vice president of global sales at KAS. “Growers need products that are not only effective but also easy to use. That’s where OPTRIENT formulations can be impactful.”
OPTRIENT MoCo Ni provides a targeted blend of molybdenum, cobalt, and nickel in a ready to use liquid. These micronutrients work together to support nitrogen metabolism, enhance stress tolerance, and promote resilient growth. The product features broad tank mix compatibility, allowing growers to combine it with commonly used nutrients and crop protection products for efficient passes.
KAS also offers OPTRIENT NITAMIN, a 30 0 0 foliar fertilizer containing 60% slow release nitrogen. With a low salt index and low levels of ammonia and biuret, NITAMIN can be applied directly to leaves for rapid uptake and a consistent green up response.
Key advantages of the OPTRIENT foliar lineup include precise, on leaf delivery of nutrients, quick absorption to optimize uptake, and flexible fit in standard spray programs. In 2024 trials, OPTRIENT MoCo Ni increased cotton lint yield by about 100 pounds per acre and raised split nut percentage in pistachios by as much as 11% compared with untreated checks. These outcomes point to improved nitrogen use efficiency and stronger crop performance when micronutrients are included with macronutrient programs.
KAS emphasizes that micronutrients matter when yield goals rise. By expanding OPTRIENT MoCo Ni to additional crops, the company supports soil health, plant nutrition, and practical solutions that fit busy spray schedules.
