Precision Agriculture Equipment Featured at NFMS

AGCO, John Deere, and New Holland feature exciting new updates

By Farms.com

The National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS) held in February in Kentucky each year is the largest indoor farm show in America - spanning 1.2 million square feet and featuring more than 900 agriculture industry booths.

Most of the major ag equipment brands attend the show and feature their latest offerings.

Precision agriculture solutions and offerings were featured by both large and small companies. Below is a sampling of the offerings from a few of the machinery companies:

AGCO provided an overview of the RoGator RG1300C Series with LiquidLogic.  One of the best LiquidLogic features is that farmers can prime the boom without sending product to the ground.  The RoGator RG1300C also features a brand-new all-wheel drive smart drive system which allows farmers to set perfect speeds in the field to match application on the farm.  The RG1300C Series offers a Raven Technology package that allows for elite data management.  The RoGator RG1300C Series is a very modern, high tech, precision agriculture solution.

John Deere had multiple precision agriculture solutions on display, with the John Deere S700 Combine Series being of great interest to farmers at the show.  Updates to the S700 Combine Series include precision residue changes that enable farmers to make adjustments in cab, updates to auto swop which automatically switches the flow of your tailboard, moisture sensor updates so that no calibration is required, interface updates to make Combine Advisor easier for farmers to use the suite of technologies, JDLink Connect changes, and extensions for John Deere Connect Support.

The John Deere Seeding Group featured the John Deere ExactRate Liquid Fertilizer System.  The system features row by row control, variable rate capabilities, turn compensation, in cab flow detection, and flow detection alerts, all with the goal of helping to provide feedback to the farmers so that they are getting the right data to make informed decisions.  This product can be used to overlay fertilizer data with harvesting data.

New Holland provided an overview of the New Holland GENESIS T8 with Precision Land Management (PLM) Intelligence.  The GENESIS T8 system is fully customizable and user friendly and fully integrated with the tractor radio controls, climate controls, etc. The screen showcases all mapping functions, such as guidance lines and nudge trim, customizable screens, and remote display. Dealers can update software remotely instead of having to go to the dealer for updates.  My PLM Connect portal features key tabs of information:

Fleet Tab with vehicle information, Map View to enable farmers to see their equipment (including starting a remote display session), Farm Tab allows farmers to see yield data on a combine or on a tractor they can obtain guidance lines, and the Data Tab is used to connect to third parties.
