A family in Ossian, Indiana, has restored an old 25-foot silo by painting it to look like a minion from the “Despicable Me” movie franchise.

Complete with the iconic bright yellow head, blue overalls and giant eyes, the silo has been creating a stir in the community.

“We’re out here in the middle of nowhere, but we have traffic jams,” Kathy Stark, whose property the silo sits on, told WANE.

“We’ve had everything from low flying helicopters to a guy on his lawn mower that lived in Decatur several miles away that was pulling his wife and his kid in a cart.”

The silo took about a weekend to complete, and was done partially in tribute to Jim Stark, Kathy’s late husband.

According to the Washington Post, last fall while Jim and Kathy were looking at the silo, Jim had the idea of painting it like a minion. He knew the grandchildren would enjoy it.

Jim passed away on Nov. 20 last year, but Kathy said he’s enjoying the view from up above.

“I think he’s up in heaven right now,” she told the Post. “Laughing and pointing and saying: ‘See that silo down there, that’s where I lived. That was my idea.’”

Interested visitors can find the silo near the 9000 block of North 750 East.
