The past few months for the Chinese hog market have been extremely unstable. The abundant pork supplies in the past 18 months have driven hog prices down 30%. This decline in prices along with a record high for corn prices has caused farmers to liquidate their hogs quickly. Taking in account past declines, we can expect to see Chinese import demand to increase.
