2023's top woodworking dreams by Wood-Mizer

Ever heard of the My Wood-Mizer Project Contest? Well, 2023's results are in, and they're spectacular. Every year since 1985, Wood-Mizer rolls out this contest, giving a shoutout to those awesome sawmill owners who've taken their woodworking game to the next level.

Now, if you’ve got a Wood-Mizer piece of kit in North America, you could dive into this contest. There's $25,000 up for grabs, spread across cool categories, from Homes to Furniture. Oh, and a fan-favorite? People’s Choice, where folks vote online for the projects they adore.

This year? It was off the charts! Over 200 entries and a tsunami of online votes made it the event of the year. Even John Smith, the CEO of Wood-Mizer, was blown away by the sheer talent on display.

Let's talk about the winners. Tim Kirk from Montana was the star in the homes category, wowing with his massive 5,000+ sq ft workshop. Imagine this: each timber, carved out precisely with his Wood-Mizer LT40 Super Hydraulic sawmill. Tim’s creation? A marvel.

And down in Texas, Blake Loree ruled the Small Homes category. His project, the Windsor Chair studio, wasn’t just a work spot. It had a trendy loft and comfy living space. All thanks to the Wood-Mizer LT40 sawmill and an EG200 edger, which helped him mold over 20,000 board feet of prime southern yellow pine.
