A Chance To See Forage Equipment In Action

This is the 10th year for the Ontario Forage Expo.

This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating 10 Years of Hay Making In Motion’.

The event offers farmers the chance to watch different forage production equipment in action, side-by-side.

Spokesman Ray Robertson says they hear many farmers talk about making buying decisions based on what they see at the Expo.

Robertson considers forages a major part of any good crop rotation.

He says the crop also helps reduce soil erosion.

A lot of acres have moved out of forages over the past few years to cash in on high corn and soybean prices.

However, Robertson says with those prices levelling off, he thinks more farmers will be looking at returning forages to their rotations.

Ontario Forage Expo 2015 is being held on a farm near Elmira on July 7th and in Dundas County in Eastern Ontario July 9th.
