Ag Women Manitoba Looking For New Members

Ag Women Manitoba is a brand new organization looking for members.

The group, which has about 30 members, was started up late last year and held its first AGM earlier this month.

Vice-Chair Tiffany Dancho talked about their goal.

"The purpose of the organization is really to bring women together who work in agriculture, in any facet, being a farm wife through to career, university, extension worker. We really want to bring women together and to share amongst each other and help create that community and that tribe that really doesn't exist outside of your specific industry level."

Dancho notes they have a networking event coming up on May 5th in Brandon.

Before trade and tariffs dominated the conversation, taxation was one of the biggest issues on farmers’ minds last year. From the carbon tax to capital gains, OFA worked with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and provincial partners to push for fair, practical solutions. We saw progress on carbon tax relief and capital gains, and we continue to advocate for modernized farm tax programs at both the provincial and federal levels.

OFA works to represent the interests of Ontario farmers to all levels of government. Renew your Farm Business Registration (FBR) by March 1/26 and choose OFA so we can continue to support Ontario farmers and their businesses.
