Cultivator and Food Centre team up

A new partnership in Saskatchewan is set to open more doors for entrepreneurs in agtech and food tech industries. The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. (Food Centre) and Cultivator powered by Conexus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to better support local startups.

The Food Centre, based in Saskatoon, is a world-class research, manufacturing, and incubation hub. Cultivator is Canada’s first credit union-led tech incubator, dedicated to helping startups start, grow, and scale within the province. Its AGTECH ACCELERATOR is recognized globally for helping founders bring agricultural innovations to market.

By joining forces, these organizations aim to offer deeper, more connected support to local businesses. Their partnership includes promoting startups in food tech, agri-food tech, upcycling, and agtech. They will refer clients to each other and collaborate on seminars, webinars, programs, and workshops.

Both groups share a strong commitment to Saskatchewan’s growth and innovation. This partnership ensures better opportunities for entrepreneurs, contributing to the ag community and strengthening the provincial economy.

Leaders from both organizations highlighted the value of this collaboration. “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Cultivator, which will help us expand our presence in ag-tech and upcycling sectors and support founders who are creating value for Saskatchewan’s economy. The founders and entrepreneurs backed by Cultivator deliver problem-driven solutions to our expanding ecosystem. Through this partnership, the Food Centre will provide continued technical and business support to help these founders advance and thrive on their entrepreneurial journeys,” said Food Centre President Mehmet Caglar Tulbek.

Aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to connect with both organizations to advance their ventures. Whether seeking technical support or business development, this partnership provides the resources to help local businesses succeed.

By working together, the Food Centre and Cultivator are paving the way for a stronger, more innovative Saskatchewan.
