Alberta Beef Producers AGM Starts Monday

 
Producers, media, industry and others with interest are invited to attend this year’s Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) Annual General Meeting on December 5-7 in Calgary at the Sheraton Cavalier Hotel. The three-day session will feature speakers, industry updates and a resolutions debate.
 
Karin Schmid, ABP beef production specialist, will provide an update on the CFIA bovine tuberculosis investigation. Gord Winkel, from the University of Alberta and AgCoalition interim executive director, will speak on building a culture of safety. Brad Stelfox, ALCES Group, is discussing land-use and social dynamics of Alberta’s livestock sector. Julie Van Rosendaal, chef and food writer, will offer her perspective on food media.
 
Marty Carpenter, director of the Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence, Canada Beef and James Bradbury, brand officer, Canada Beef, will share the evolution of the Canadian beef brand, and how our recent global consumer research is influencing consumer brand loyalty for Canadian beef at home and abroad.
