Anthrax Reported In Alberta

Anthrax has been confirmed in two beef cattle farms and one sheep farm in the Fort Vermilion area, as well as in bison in Wood Buffalo National Park and in the Syncrude bison herd north of Fort McMurray. Dr. Jagdish Patel is the manager of the pathology section in Alberta Agriculture’s animal health division. He told our Ken Blackley that a few cases of Anthrax are reported in Western Canada nearly every year.
