Former Provincial Ex GM Heading Up New Show

The former general manager of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is heading up a new farm show in Saskatchewan this summer.

Ag in Motion, touted as western Canada's first outdoor farm show, has been set for July 21 to 23 at Langham, located west of Saskatoon.

O'Connor, who also has experience managing Canada's Farm Progress Show, is the show director for Ag in Motion.

"We've purchased a half section of land and on that land we'll have a hundred acres dedicated for a trade show site, a hundred acres dedicated for demonstrations and then the rest will be used for parking and backstage."

O'Connor says Ag in Motion's long-term goal is to have as many agriculture products on display and being demonstrated at the show, including equipment, seed and crop inputs.

We are taking students out to southern Manitoba to Hespler Farms! Farmer Wayne will teach students how he plants and cares for his potato crop and why potatoes are such a unique crop to grow. Teachers, check out your AITC Dashboard for Math'd Potatoes, a potato-themed classroom resource to pair with this tour video.
