On July 8, the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorneys General of Illinois, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin filed a joint motion in the Northern District of Illinois (Case No. 3:25-cv-50017) asking the court to enter a stipulated order that would resolve their right to repair lawsuit against Deere & Co.
Under the proposed order, Deere must make the repair resources it provides to its dealers available to farmers and independent repair providers on fair and reasonable terms, must instruct its dealers not to discriminate or retaliate against customers who repair their own equipment, and must pay one million dollars to the plaintiff states. The order does not affect farmers' private claims against Deere.
