How Production Insurance responds when planting is delayed

Wet weather in parts of Ontario is creating difficult planting conditions for many farmers. Agricorp is working directly with farmers who are concerned about planting delays and will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Production Insurance was designed for situations like these. The program includes an unseeded acreage benefit (USAB) when wet weather prevents planting. USAB compensates customers when they are not able to plant their intended crop or an alternative crop by the planting deadline. The planting deadline is the last day that a crop can be planted and still qualify for Production Insurance.
