India Increases Chickpea Duty

India has raised its import tariff on chickpeas, again.

Starting immediately, the tariff will go from 40 to 60 per cent.

India originally placed a 30 per cent import duty on lentils and chickpeas back on December 21st, then raised it to 40 per cent for chickpeas on February 7th.
