Latest Tillage Enhancements with the DOMINATOR 4855

Increased reliability and serviceability to the customer

Kuhn Krause Inc is pleased to announce the latest in tillage with the DOMINATOR 4855.  Kuhn Krause established its leadership in tillage with the Dominator, a five-step system for residue management which also reduces subsoil compaction and preserves a level field finish.

The Dominator 4855 was showcased at the 2015 National Farm Machinery Show.  According to Gary Johnson, Kuhn Product Manager significant changes have been made to the product to increase reliability and serviceability to the customer with similar functionality.

The DOMINATOR 4855 has a 23/4” diameter slip-in spindles and 8-bolt wheel bubs that are rated at 10,000 lbs each and are used on walking beam weldments.  According to the media release “hardened bushings and heat-treated pins replace grease zerks and standard pivot pins in the parallel mount for the rear disc conditioner’s lower links, eliminating the need for daily grease maintenance.”

The DOMINATOR 4855 also sports a new angular contact bearing cartridge that is incorporated into each of the rear disc conditioner blade assemblies.  This new bearing uses a heavy-duty, multi-lip (5) bearing seal and a machined hub spindle.  Additional protection is provided by a skid-wear guard to the machined cast bearing housing.

“Each disc conditioner blade is secured to the hub spindle and bearing assembly with a 5-bolt blade pattern, which will make changing blades quick and simple.”

According to Kuhn, maintenance-free bearing assemblies (no daily grease required) mounted on heavy-duty ductile cast bearing arms will be available in the 24/7® Soil Conditioning Reel option which includes “a new heavy-duty round bar reel with.”

The DOMINATOR 4855 has four different shank configurations: 7-, 9-, 11- and 13.

Kuhn products are distributed via farm equipment dealers across North America.
