SARM's Midterm Convention Cancelled

Newly elected RM Councillors and Reeve's would normally be taking part in the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities Midterm Convention this week.

With the uncertainty around COVID and restrictions around public gatherings this year's event in Saskatoon was cancelled.

President Ray Orb says it's unfortunate.

He notes SARM has also decided to move the 2021 Annual Convention in March to a digital format this year.

"We'll still debate resolutions, we'll still co-ordinate elections, we will still host dialogues with the Ministers and a bear-pit with the Cabinet. We will still have a trade show. This is a time when we need to come together in a new way to stay true to the tradition of Annual Convention and the opportunity it represents."

SARM's 116th Annual "Digital" Convention goes March 8th - 12th.
