The Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership has released a report showing exports from this province rose 8 percent last year.
Exports from Saskatchewan reached 28.9 billion dollars last year, a gain of 2.2 billion from the previous year.
The increase was led by the improved price received for oil shipments to the United States.
The U.S. remains the number one market for Saskatchewan, with just over half total exports being shipped south.
Ontario and Quebec export over 70 percent of their goods to the U.S., but Saskatchewan is more diversified.
Last year, China, India and Japan accounted for 20 percent of Saskatchewan’s export sales.
Oil, Canola, potash, and wheat remain Saskatchewan’s top exports in 2017.
