Snow Could Put A Stop To The Harvest

The push is on as farmers work to get the majority of the harvest in the bin before the snow flies.

Agri-Meteorologist Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc says that could happen this weekend.

“We’ll see some significant frost and freezes occurring in most of the Province by the time we get to Saturday morning. Then the stage becomes set for a rain and snow event to impact most of the south, east central through southeastern parts of the province.”

Snow is expected to start Saturday night, continue most of the day Sunday ending early on Monday.”

“Some of that precipitation will be significant and the snow will be heavier enough in some areas to lay down our crop and make harvesting even more difficult down the road.”
