The S-K Livestock Finance Co-operative Gaining Momentum

The S-K Livestock Finance Co-operative was established earlier this year to replace the Ministry of Agriculture’s old Livestock Loan Guarantee Program.

General Manager Terry Wensley, says the new Co-operative is a member based operation.

“We’re very fortunate over 90% of the old members from the old LLG program transferred over to the S-K Livestock Finance Co-operative.”

Wensley says the member based program is looking to grow the industry, and encourage younger producers to grow their programs and competitive offering in the marketplace.

“We have strong and equal access from across Saskatchewan. We have regional secretaries spread out across the Province, as is our board. It’s really important to us that we have that whole Provincial representation.”
