Tools For Performing A Feed Inventory

Feed inventories are used to determine how much feed is present at any particular time on the farm. The reasons to conduct feed inventory are to:  project future needs; determine if you need to obtain feed or can sell feed; allocate existing feed inventories over a period of time; determine what to plant for upcoming cropping season; or give an indication of future storage needs.

In the podcast Tools for Performing a Feed Inventory, retired UW-Extension Specialist Brian Holmes discusses feed inventories and demonstrates a variety of spreadsheet tools to help with feed calculations.   Included with the podcast are several spreadsheet calculators to determine feed inventories in a variety of storage structures.
