USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:   Net sales of 319,900 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Venezuela (131,700 MT), Mexico (61,000 MT), China (58,800 MT, including 55,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 300 MT), South Korea (29,700 MT), and Thailand (25,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (37,000 MT) and Brazil (28,500 MT).  Net sales of 82,000 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for the Philippines (45,000 MT), Nigeria (24,000 MT), and South Korea (13,000 MT).  Exports of 586,800 MT were up 41 percent from the previous week and 53 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (178,800 MT), Brazil (64,500 MT), Mexico (61,600 MT), Thailand (52,900 MT), and Japan (52,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 51,000 MT, and are for Italy (30,000 MT) and Algeria (21,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, exports for own account to Italy (11,700 MT) and Belgium-Luxembourg (1,900 MT) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 44,500 MT, and is for Italy (35,500 MT) and Belgium-Luxembourg (9,000 MT).

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports of White Wheat (104) to Japan were adjusted down 20,567 MT for week ending January 2, 2014.  The correct class is HRW (101) and is included in this week’s report.

Corn:  Net sales of 821,000 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Egypt (265,500 MT), Japan (248,100 MT, including 64,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 56,300 MT), Mexico (195,700 MT), Taiwan (63,500 MT), and South Korea (58,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for China (169,800 MT) and unknown destinations (15,800 MT).  Exports of 674,500 MT were up 12 percent from the previous week, but down 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (226,100 MT), Mexico (148,900 MT), South Korea (58,800 MT), Egypt (41,500 MT), and Colombia (34,900 MT).  

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 55,000 MT, all South Korea.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 58,728 MT for week ending October 31, 2013.  South Korea is the new destination for these shipments and is included in this week’s report.  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 62,001 MT for week ending November 21, 2013.  Japan is the new destination for these shipments and was adjusted in the week ending November 21, 2013 report.

Barley: There were no sales or exports reported during the week.

Sorghum: Net sales of 230,300 MT for 2013/2014 were for China (164,800 MT), unknown destinations (58,600 MT), and Japan (6,900 MT, including 6,200 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Exports of 75,300 MT were to China (60,300 MT) and Japan (15,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales: For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 60,000 MT, all China.

Rice: Net sales of 7,100 MT for 2013/2014--a marketing-year low--were down 92 percent from the previous week and 91 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (1,900 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), Israel (700 MT), Hong Kong (700 MT), and Singapore (400 MT).  Exports of 50,300 MT were down 39 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (24,800 MT), Haiti (7,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (4,000 MT), Jordan (3,100 MT), and Taiwan (2,700 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 701,500 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (678,200 MT, including 233,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 142,900 MT), Mexico (84,100 MT), Spain (68,200 MT, including 57,100 MT switched from unknown destinations), Portugal (67,800 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Bangladesh (50,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (402,700 MT), and Colombia (16,400 MT).  Net sales of 525,300 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for China (512,000 MT), Mexico (10,800 MT), and Japan (2,600 MT).  Exports of 1,563,200 MT were down 7 percent from the previous week, but up 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,086,600 MT), Spain (128,200 MT), Portugal (67,800 MT), Mexico (45,400 MT), and Taiwan (35,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 280,000 MT, all China.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to France were adjusted down 32,303 MT for week ending December 26, 2013.  The United Kingdom is the new destination for these shipments and is included in this week’s report.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 234,700 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (77,000 MT), Mexico (58,500 MT), Venezuela (57,000 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Thailand (45,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Canada (37,100 MT).   Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (62,400 MT).  Exports of 185,800 MT were down 46 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (53,500 MT), Vietnam (45,900 MT), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Canada (22,100 MT), and Mexico (16,800 MT).  

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 16,900 MT for 2013/2014 were down 50 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (5,500 MT), Malaysia (4,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (3,700 MT), Chile (2,000 MT), and Panama (1,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 15,000 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Egypt (9,000 MT), Mexico (3,700 MT), Canada (1,000 MT), and the Dominican Republic (900 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 223,700 RB for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (52,600 RB), Indonesia (47,100 RB), China (44,500 RB), Pakistan (18,800 RB), and Thailand (12,500 RB, including 500 RB switched from Japan and 200 RB switched from Indonesia).  Net sales of 9,300 RB for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for South Korea (11,400 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Indonesia (2,100 RB).  Exports of 217,400 RB were up 3 percent from the previous week and 31 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (54,100 RB), Turkey (46,700 RB), Vietnam (28,800 RB), Indonesia (20,800 RB), and Mexico (16,500 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 16,000 RB for 2013/2014 were up 94 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (7,000 RB), China (6,500 RB), Egypt (1,800 RB), and Pakistan (400 RB).  Decreases were reported for Bangladesh (300 RB).  Exports of 13,500 RB were primarily to China (4,900 RB), India (4,900 RB), Pakistan (1,300 RB), and Switzerland (900 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, optional origin sales totaling 200 RB were reported for unknown destinations.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 17,300 RB, and are for Thailand (9,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), unknown destinations (3,100 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, exports for own account totaling 2,549 RB were reported to China.  The current exports for own account balance is 55,900 RB, and is for China (55,500 RB) and Vietnam (400 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 686,500 pieces for 2014, all whole cattle hide, were primarily for China (452,900 pieces, including 2,700 pieces switched from South Korea and decreases of 6,200 pieces), South Korea (132,500 pieces), Taiwan (55,100 pieces), Thailand (11,300 pieces), and Turkey (8,200 pieces).  Exports of 464,400 pieces were reported.  Whole cattle exports of 461,700 pieces were primarily to China (242,100 pieces), South Korea (137,500 pieces), Taiwan (38,100 pieces), Mexico (10,800 pieces), and Thailand (8,900 pieces).   

Net sales of 156,100 wet blues for 2014 reported for Italy (51,400 grain splits), China (47,900 unsplit), Vietnam (36,400 unsplit), and Thailand (8,700 unsplit), were partially offset by decreases for Italy (1,500 unsplit).  Exports of 75,100 hides were primarily to China (17,900 unsplit and 1,900 grain splits), Italy (19,000 unsplit), Mexico (8,600 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit), and Vietnam (8,700 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 89,800 pounds for 2014 were reported for South Korea (86,900 pounds) and China (4,000 pounds).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (1,100 pounds).  Exports of 304,500 pounds were to South Korea (261,700 pounds) and Hong Kong (42,900 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 15,800 MT for 2014 were reported for South Korea (4,500 MT), Hong Kong (4,200 MT), Mexico (2,000 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), and Japan (1,400 MT).  Exports of 12,000 MT were primarily to Japan (2,600 MT), Mexico (2,300 MT), Hong Kong (2,200 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 9,900 MT for 2014 were reported for Mexico (3,200 MT), Japan (1,700 MT), South Korea (1,700 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), and Colombia (500 MT). Exports of 11,500 MT were primarily to Mexico (4,300 MT), South Korea (1,700 MT), Japan (1,500 MT), Hong Kong (900 MT), and Canada (900 MT).
