USDA: Export Sales Reports

Wheat:  Net sales of 651,700 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were up noticeably from the previous week and up 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (163,900 MT), Nigeria (93,900 MT), Peru (74,400 MT), Indonesia (65,000 MT), Japan (60,400 MT), and China (56,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Italy (20,000 MT).  Net sales of 54,600 MT for the 2013/2014 marketing year were reported for Mexico (31,600 MT), Italy (20,000 MT), and unknown destinations (3,000 MT).  Exports of 576,500 MT were up 26 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (97,800 MT), Japan (90,100 MT), Egypt (84,000 MT), Nigeria (83,300 MT), and Turkey (66,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For MY 2012/2013, outstanding optional origin sales total 90,000 MT, all Algeria.

Corn:  Net sales of 225,400 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were up 34 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (177,000 MT, including 70,900 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (102,600 MT, including 120,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 17,400 MT), Mexico (53,500 MT), Costa Rica (12,400 MT, including 11,800 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Colombia (9,100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (145,300 MT).  Net sales of 59,300 MT for the 2013/2014 marketing year were for unknown destinations (50,800 MT) and China (10,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for Japan (1,700 MT).  Exports of 392,300 MT were up 88 percent from the previous week and 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (162,600 MT), Japan (133,900 MT), Mexico (42,000 MT), Cuba (25,100 MT), and Costa Rica (12,400 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For MY 2012/2013, outstanding optional origin sales total 117,900 MT, all South Korea.  For MY 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 30,000 MT, all Mexico.

Barley:   Net sales of 100 MT were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 100 MT were reported to Taiwan.

Sorghum:  Net sales of 82,900 MT--a marketing-year high--were for Mexico (63,000 MT), Japan (15,400 MT), and unknown destinations (4,600 MT).  Exports of 17,600 MT were reported to Japan (15,400 MT) and Mexico (2,200 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 93,200 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 14 percent from the previous week and up 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Venezuela (30,000 MT), Libya (20,000 MT), Japan (13,200 MT), Saudi Arabia (12,300 MT), and Honduras (8,700 MT, including 2,500 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Exports of 42,800 MT were down 60 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were to Japan (14,100 MT), Honduras (10,000 MT), South Korea (5,600 MT), Mexico (4,100 MT), and Canada (2,500 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales reductions of 109,200 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year resulted as increases for Germany (83,700 MT), Mexico (62,500 MT), Taiwan (38,900 MT), Japan (36,000 MT, including 28,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 800 MT), Indonesia (35,300 MT), and Egypt (9,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for China (230,600 MT), unknown destinations (146,500 MT), and Israel (9,000 MT).  Net sales of 345,000 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were for China (335,000 MT), Israel (9,000 MT), and Japan (1,000 MT).  Exports of 990,700 MT were down 33 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (680,900 MT), Germany (83,700 MT), Mexico (59,100 MT), Japan (44,300 MT), and Tunisia (33,000 MT).  NOTE:  Accumulated exports were adjusted down for the Netherlands (83,700 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For MY 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 126,000 MT, all China.  

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 132,400 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 33 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Vietnam (40,000 MT), Denmark (35,500 MT, including 35,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Spain (27,400 MT, including 26,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Poland (27,400 MT, including 26,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Venezuela (25,000 MT), and France (19,800 MT, switched from Ireland), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (87,700 MT), and Ireland (18,000 MT).  Exports of 389,200 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 23 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Ecuador (53,800 MT), Venezuela (47,000 MT), Denmark (35,500 MT), Spain (27,400 MT), Australia (27,400 MT), and Poland (27,400 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 16,600 MT for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 35 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for South Korea (10,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), China (10,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), the Dominican Republic (7,600 MT), Venezuela (5,000 MT), and Nicaragua (4,400 MT, including 1,000 MT switched from Panama), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (20,000 MT) and Panama (1,000 MT).  Exports of 33,100 MT were down 3 percent from the previous week, but up 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (10,000 MT), China (10,000 MT), Nicaragua (4,400 MT), and Morocco (3,500 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 185,700 running bales for the 2012/2013 marketing year were up 98 percent from the previous week, but down 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (57,100 RB, including late reporting of 40,100 RB), Mexico (40,900 RB), Turkey (36,700 RB), Thailand (19,500 RB), Taiwan (9,800 RB), and Vietnam (8,900 RB).  Decreases were reported for Pakistan (6,600 RB).  Net sales of 171,500 RB for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were primarily for Mexico (152,400 RB).  Exports of 357,900 RB were down 19 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (147,600 RB, including late reporting of 27,600 RB), Turkey (55,700 RB), Pakistan (38,400 RB), Vietnam (36,800 RB), Mexico (25,300 RB), and Indonesia (8,200 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 23,500 RB for the 2012/2013 marketing year were down 23 percent from the previous week and 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for India (11,600 RB), China (3,800 RB), Egypt (2,600 RB), South Korea (2,600 RB), and Pakistan (1,100 RB).  Net sales of 17,600 RB for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were primarily for China (7,000 RB) and India (5,500 RB).  Exports of 15,300 RB were up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were primarily to China (8,300 RB), India (2,200 RB), Peru (2,000 RB), and Pakistan (1,500 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For MY 2012/2013, options were exercised to export 1,100 RB to Thailand from the United States.  Options were exercised to export 500 RB to South Korea from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 259,500 RB, and are for China (236,800 RB), South Korea (19,300 RB), Thailand (3,100 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 6,700 RB were reported to China.  The current exports for own account balance is 81,300 RB, and is for China (80,900 RB) and Vietnam (400 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 305,800 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were reported for delivery in 2013 down 23 percent from the previous week and 48 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide sales were primarily for China (229,000 pieces), South Korea (33,400 pieces), Taiwan (19,100 pieces), Mexico (8,500 pieces), and Vietnam (6,600 pieces).  Exports of 502,100 pieces were up 13 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (319,300 pieces), South Korea (114,300 pieces), Taiwan (20,500 pieces), Mexico (14,700 pieces), and Thailand (11,800 pieces).    

Net sales of 95,100 wet blues for delivery in 2013 were primarily for Mexico (41,200 grain splits), China (29,400 unsplit and 100 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (7,100 grain splits), and Vietnam (5,600 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (600 unsplit) and Turkey (300 unsplit).  Exports of 144,200 hides were primarily for China (42,600 unsplit and 2,000 grain splits), Italy (27,600 unsplit), Mexico (22,400 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit), and South Korea (16,500 grain splits).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 110,000 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (6,700 pounds) were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (42,800 pounds), Turkey (28,200 pounds), Taiwan (23,000 pounds), Italy (20,300 pounds), and the Dominican Republic (2,400 pounds).  Exports of 436,600 pounds were for South Korea (224,300 pounds), Italy (126,300 pounds), and Hong Kong (86,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 7,300 MT for delivery in 2013 were primarily for Canada (2,600 MT), Mexico (2,300 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Egypt (1,300 MT), and Vietnam (1,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for Japan (5,000 MT).  Exports of 16,100 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,400 MT), South Korea (2,500 MT), Canada (2,400 MT), Japan (1,700 MT), Hong Kong (1,500 MT), Vietnam (1,500 MT), and Egypt (1,200 MT).
