Winnipeg Hosts 10th Canadian Pulse Research Workshop

The 10th Canadian Pulse Research Workshop wrapped in Winnipeg on Friday.

The biennial meeting welcomes pulse researchers from across Canada to discuss different disciplines and to present the latest results.

One of the presenters was Dr Tom Warkentin, a professor at the Crop Development Centre at the University of Saskatchewan.

He referenced some of the improvements that have been made over the years with field peas.

"I think from a field point of view we've been increasing yield by approximately two to three per cent over a 20 year period. We've improved to some extent the standibility about the lodging resistance of peas."
