London Swine Conference Presentations Online.

11th London Swine Conference

Internationally renowned speakers recently  shared their unique expertise with the Ontario pork industry at the eleventh annual London Swine Conference. More than 270 participants attended the conference, held at the London Convention Centre on March 30 and 31.
The program brought together many excellent speakers from various backgrounds on forward-thinking and practical topics. Attendees had the opportunity to network with a cross-section of the pork industry.
Participants stated that the conference was “very informative” with “a wide variation of topics” and were “impressed by the intense knowledge of the speakers”. The LSC program covered practical pork production, from barn design and ventilation to health of weanlings and production data benchmarking. Speakers challenged participants to plan for the future by examining new business models from Ontario and the United States. Presentations included updates on recent developments and emerging trends from the UK and Brazil. It is apparent that with ever-changing consumer demands, and evolving technologies for use on farm, producers need to manage their businesses with increased attention to a broad spectrum of market influences.
The planning committee extends their thanks to industry partner level sponsors Gentiporc and Better Pork Magazine along with 34 industry sponsors. With their strong support, LSC continues to be one of the largest education events for the swine industry in Ontario.
