North Dakota farmers looking for help, or producers looking to provide harvest assistance this season can do so through the Harvest Hotline.

“Farmers who need custom combining and combiners looking for a job should call us at 701-328-5110,” Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said in a statement. “Your name and information will be entered into the Harvest Hotline database to be matched up with other callers.”

The hotline is available from 8am to 5pm on weekdays. Callers can also choose to leave messages on weekends.

In addition to the hotline, an online map is available.

Visitors can click on combine icons to see available volunteers, the equipment they have and contact information.

Steve Wolt, for example, is available in Mandan, N.D.

His listing includes two Case IH 9230 combines, headers, carts, trucks and other pieces of equipment.

This year will mark the 31st season North Dakota farmers have used the service.

The state government implemented it in 1992 when adverse weather caused the demand for custom combining services to increase.

Services are available for farmers in other states too.

Farmmee, which three Iowa women founded in 2021, also helps connect farmers who need jobs completed with producers who can lend a hand.

Some of the jobs listed on Farmmee’s site include baling, hauling and various farmhand work.

Farmmee also has a mobile app farmers can download for more job opportunities.
