Agricultural Issues To Be Discussed In The Saskatchewan Legislature This Spring

Agriculture minister Lyle Stewart expects several farm issues to come up in the legislature this spring.

Stewart says the 2016 harvest should wrap up this spring, and there could be talk about wildlife crop damage over winter.

He also sees foreign trade as an issue.

He says there remains some uncertainty about the U.S. attitude towards the North American Trade Agreement.

He says Saskatchewan will have to make the case that NAFTA is good for both the U.S. and Canada.

He also expects ratification of the Canada-European trade deal shortly in the European Union.
