Field Pea Processing Plant Coming To Moose Jaw

 
A German-based company is planning to build a 75 million dollar field pea processing plant in Moose Jaw.
 
Moose Jaw economic development officer Deb Thorn says Canadian Protein Innovation is planning to process yellow peas into protein, starch and fibre.
 
Thorn says 65 jobs would be created, and there is the possibility of further expansion.
She says a new market would be created for local farmers.
 
Thorn says the project would begin construction next June and be completed in one year.
