Help Others by Sharing Your Cover Crop Experiences

The USDA - Sustainable Agriculture Outreach and Extension (SARE), Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) and the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) are seeking farmer insights for the sixth nationwide 2020 Cover Crop Survey. The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and participants who complete the survey can enter a drawing for Visa gift cards worth $100 and $200. The survey is open to those with experience in cover copping and to new users or those who have not planted cover crops.

Since 2012, the SARE/CTIC/ASTA Cover Crop Survey has provided very important perspective into why and how farmers use-or don’t use-cover crops, and the survey has helped to guide cover crop resources in research, communications and policy. The Cover Crop Survey is utilized by farmer organizations, conservation and extension service personnel, seed companies and other agribusinesses. The survey has even been cited in testimony to Congress.

The survey will run until April 12 and it can be accessed at this webpage. Previous Cover Crop Survey reports are available through the Conservation Technology Information Center website .
