Michigan December 1 Grain Stocks

On December 1, 2015, Michigan corn stocks totaled 276.6 million bushels, 2 percent lower than a year earlier . About 67 percent of the corn was stored on farms. The first quarter disappearance was 86.7 million bushels, compared with 108.5 million bushels a year earlier. S oybean stocks on December 1, 2015, were 64.2 million bushels. That was 1 percent lower than stocks a year earlier . The first quarter indicated disappearance was 39.3 million bushels .

Farm stocks of soybeans were 28.0 million bushels. Wheat stocks on Decemb er 1, 2015, were 33.2 million bushels, 18 percent above a year ago. Approximately 92 percent of wheat stocks were in commercial storage . Second quarter indicated disappearance was 7.4 million bushels, 14.3 percent of supply. U.S. c orn stocks in all positions on December 1, 2015, totaled 11.2 billion bushels, up slightly percent from December 1, 2014. Of the total stocks, 6.83 billion bushels were stored on farms, down 4 percent from a year earlier. Off - farm stocks, 4.38 billion bush els, were up 6 percent from a year ago.

The September - November 2015 indicated disappearance was 4.12 billion bushels, compared with 4.24 billion bushels during the same period last year. Soybeans stored in all positions on December 1, 2015, totaled 2.71 billion bushels, up 7 percent from December 1, 2014. Soybean stocks stored on farms were estimated at 1.31 billion bushels, up 8 percent from a year ago. Off - farm stocks, 1.41 billion bushels, were up 7 percent from last December. Indicated disappearance f or the September - November 2015 quarter totaled 1.41 billion bushels, down 6 percent from the same period a year earlier. All wheat stored in all positions on December 1, 2015, totaled 1.74 billion bushels, up 14 percent from a year ago.

On - farm stocks we re estimated at 503 million bushels, up 6 percent from last December. Off - farm stocks, 1.23 billion bushels, were up 17 percent from a year ago. The September - November 2015 indicated disappearance was 359 million bushels, down 5 percent from the same per iod a year earlier.
