Most Drought Gone from Southeast, but Grows in Puerto Rico

As expected, the rainfall associated with the passage of TS Cristobal to our west eliminated most of the drought and dry conditions from Florida and Georgia, leaving a small area of moderate drought in southwest Alabama and the western edge of the Florida Panhandle. This could be further eroded due to rain this week before we go through a dry and sunny period of high pressure. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico’s drought intensified to D2 Severe across the southern portion of the island with the absence of rain in that part of the tropics
