Stratford event to bring together more than 3,000 industry professionals for two days of technology, networking, and education.

The Ontario pork sector will take centre stage this summer as the 2026 Ontario Pork Congress (OPC) returns to Stratford, Ontario, on June 17–18, bringing together producers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders for one of Canada’s premier livestock events.

Held annually at the Stratford Rotary Complex, the two-day congress has evolved into a cornerstone event for the swine industry, combining a large-scale trade show, educational programming, and community engagement activities.

Recognized as Canada’s leading swine-focused event, the Ontario Pork Congress is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees, reflecting its continued importance as a hub for innovation and networking.

With over 120 exhibitors anticipated, the event will showcase the latest advancements in barn technology, animal health solutions, genetics, equipment, and precision agriculture tools aimed at improving productivity and sustainability.

Industry professionals from across the value chain attend the congress, including producers, veterinarians, nutritionists, equipment manufacturers, and policymakers. The event provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, build business relationships, and gain insight into emerging trends shaping pork production.

Networking events for the whole family
“We are back for another year, and our dedicated volunteers and members have been working hard at making sure this event is as fun and informative as ever,” says Victoria Stewart, President, Ontario Pork Congress.

Exhibitors can start their day with a complimentary breakfast included with their tickets, courtesy of the Stratford Agricultural Society. For attendees, admission also includes a BBQ lunch hosted by the Perth County Pork Producers, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.

On Wednesday, the popular Taste the Best (TTB) event returns, bringing together local restaurants for a friendly culinary competition. Each participant will create a bite-sized dish centered around a featured pork ingredient, with this year’s theme highlighting pork shoulder and apricot. Attendees are invited to sample each creation at no cost in the arena and vote for their favourite for a chance to win a gift card from one of the participating restaurants.

After the tradeshow closes on Wednesday, the event continues in the Hospitality Tent, open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., providing a space to network and unwind.

Attendees can also take part in the Hog Jog, organized by the Ontario Pork Industry Council. Open to participants of all levels, the event supports a charitable cause and offers options for those running competitively or simply for fun.

Later in the evening, OPC will host two live auctions featuring boxes of pork products, with all proceeds supporting this year’s Hog Jog charity, the Emily Murphy Centre.

The auction items are connected to the Pork Quality competition, where youth participants submit hogs to be evaluated based on meat quality. Top entries are awarded cash prizes, recognizing excellence and encouraging the next generation of producers. Another highlight is the Bacon Maker Classic, where young participants showcase their skills with live hogs during Thursday afternoon demonstrations.

The International and Farm Workers event will return on both days, offering opportunities for workers to connect, learn, and engage with speakers. Sessions will be offered in Spanish, Tagalog, and English to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

Throughout the tradeshow, there is plenty of family-friendly entertainment, including a dedicated Kids Zone featuring face painting, a bouncy castle, and a play area. Attendees can also participate in the returning scavenger hunt stamp game, visiting participating exhibitors throughout the show. Completed entries can be submitted for a chance to win one of three gift cards ranging from $100 to $500.

With a full schedule of activities, the Ontario Pork Congress continues to deliver a dynamic experience for industry professionals, families, and the broader community.

A Key Event for a Vital Sector
Ontario remains a critical contributor to Canada’s pork industry, accounting for approximately 26 percent of the national hog inventory, second only to Quebec.

With global demand for pork remaining strong and producers facing ongoing pressures related to input costs, labour, and sustainability requirements, the Ontario Pork Congress offers a timely platform to address challenges and identify opportunities.
