George Pitsikoulis is the 2019 Pillar of the Industry award winner designated by the Quebec Produce Marketing Association. The president of Canadawide Inc. since 2002 was honoured at the annual meeting held in Quebec City.
Pitsikoulis and his brothers Nick and Michael operate the Montreal-based wholesale business which distributes produce in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes. The business has grown from humble roots when his parents opened a Montreal green grocer in 1961.
Today, the distributor has 35,000 square feet of space, housing 7,500 pallets and 15 storage coolers. The facility built in 2013 is now at capacity.
Pitsikoulis is continuing his winning ways in 2019, after receiving the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s inaugural Corporate Culture Award in April.
