Exciting Career Opportunity for a Veterinarian in the Midwest

Tyson Foods is currently hiring a Field Swine Veterinarian, a position that focuses on ensuring the health and welfare of swine in the Midwest. The veterinarian will oversee health-related protocols for wean-to-market operations and work directly with farm personnel to manage issues related to swine health. They will also coordinate with Tyson’s Technical Services team to develop and implement strategies for better health management, production, and biosecurity. 

Key responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Assessing and addressing health-related concerns on farms. 

  • Developing and improving processes for production management and health protocols. 

  • Conducting farm evaluations and providing training on health-related SOPs. 

  • Traveling regularly throughout Indiana and Ohio to visit various farms. 

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, at least three years of related experience (including time in veterinary college), and the ability to practice in the U.S. Strong communication skills and proficiency in standard computer applications are required. 

Additional qualifications include: 

  • Licensure or willingness to obtain licensure in Indiana and Ohio. 

  • A thorough understanding of swine diseases and welfare issues. 

  • Ability to follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment. 

This position requires daily regional travel and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Tyson Foods offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while ensuring swine health and welfare across the Midwest.
