CGC Suspends W.A. Grain & Pulse Solutions Licence

A notice on the Canadian Grain Commissions website this week notes that as of Tuesday, April 20th the licences for W.A. Grain & Pulse Solutions have been suspended until April 30, 2021.

CGC Spokesperson Remi Gosselin says the company holds primary elevator licences in Saskatchewan and Alberta.

"W.A. Grain is headquartered in Innisfail, Alberta. It holds a grain dealer licence, and it also has primary elevator licenses for facilities and Pambrum, Saskatchewan Ponteix, Saskatchewan and Vanguard, Saskatchewan; as well as in Bashaw and Bowden, Alberta."

He says the grain company is prohibited from selling stocks in store, accepting producer deliveries and contracting new grain sales.

"In the Commission's administrative capacity, we have determined that its licenses are suspended and we are giving them time to manage their finances. Now, you know if that can't happen the CGC can either revoke the W.A. Grains licences upon the expiry of the suspension orders, or if they can bring their finances in order, then we can reinstate the licences.

Gosselin says the Canadian Grain Commission is advising farmers if they are owed money by the company for grain deliveries, they should contact the CGC immediately.
